Epigenetics, Peter Levine, & EFT

Dr Peter Levine's book "When the Body Says No", reads "Hans Selye, the founder of stress research, developed the concept of adaption energy. 'It is as though we had hidden reserves of adaptability, or adaption energy, throughout the body....Only when all of our adaptability is used up will irreversible, general exhaustion and death follow.' Central to any understanding of stress, health and disease is the concept of adaptiveness. Adaptiveness is the capacity to respond to external stressors without rigidity, with flexibility and creativity, without excessive anxiety and without being overwhelmed by emotion. People who are NOT adaptive may seem to function well as long as nothing is disturbing them, but they will react with various levels of frustration and helplessness when confronted by loss or by difficulty. They will blame themselves or blame others. A person's adaptiveness depends very much on the degree of differentiation and adaptiveness of previous generations in his family and also on what external stressors may have acted on the family." page 221 "'Highly adaptive people and families, on average, have fewer physical illness, and those illnesses that do occur tend to be mild and moderate in severity,' writes Dr Michael Kerr. 'Since one important variable in the development of physical illness is the degree of adaptiveness of an individual, and since the degree of adaptiveness is determined by the multigenerational emotional process, physical illness, like emotional illness, is a symptom of a relationship process that extends beyond the boundaries of the individual patient.' Physical illness, in other words, is a disorder of the family emotional system (which includes) present and past generations" page 222. Now, there is a mouthful! This is a good explanation of epigenetics. We are a product of our family line, BUT we have a tool few others have had. We each can clear for ourselves, our present families, and our future grandchildren generations to come, by doing our own emotional work. I often tell clients, especially mothers, that the buck has to stop sreomewhere, why not you? As I continue to challenge you to clean up your emotional stuff by tapping, I hope you will take the above words to heart! There appears now to be enough scientific evidence that this generational garbage is indeed passed down to subsequent generations. Stopping some, if not all, of the cycles lies in your fingers. Go for it! Become the family hero! Give your great-grandchildren one of the greatest gifts ever - a cleared family line! But isn't this interesting when looked at through Biblical lens? Exodus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy all have similar verses regarding sins of the fathers. My best guess is there no doubt are cumulative. Does that answer why it seems to many so much is going on, or has the world always been this big of a disaster and mass media makes it look worse? My guess is the latter. History tells us of huge past disasters where millions were killed, but no one heard about it until a year later! In the final analysis, it doesn't matter because our action needs to be the same. We need to tap & clear our stuff. It is part of the process of sanctification. Redemption is FREE, but we are "to take dominion" and clean things up for us and others.
