How Has Your Movie and TV Viewing Changed with Tapping?

Have you found that your TV and movie tastes have changed? How about your desire to watch/read news items?

Our movie tastes have changed in our house over the past decade, and I know it is all due to the tapping both Brad & I have done!
Brad was a real "hack & slash" movie junkie. He would say routinely, "If nothing blows up & no one gets killed, it's not worth watching. That's why Hallmark movies aren't any good."
I'd end up watching those movies simply by default. Now, he rarely brings these home anymore from Redbox. And I understand why. And, if he does bring one home now, I tap through the movie.
Our tolerance for violence is much lower. I don't watch the evening news, or read the newspapers. I pick up quick glimpses of what is going on internationally, but I have no tolerance at all for these long drawn out international intrigues where the news organizations report every single detail. I feel my anxiety rise, and I turn into the world's crabbiest crab. And then I have to stop and tap.
There is a fine line here between paying attention to our civic duties and acting upon them, as God instructs us to do, and getting all tangled up in the details of it where we find our peace, quiet, and emotions all disturbed.
I refuse to get pulled into Facebook political arguments. Why? Because no one wins! Rarely will we change the other person's mind and we lose our sense of internal peace over a hopeless argument. It's not worth the damage to my body by raising my cortisol and adrenalin levels to overload!
These arguments are STRESS to our body. Stop being pulled down that rabbit hole! Your psyche will thank you, as will your body!
Does everyone here understand that watching a murder on TV is NO different to the subconscious mind (SC) than seeing it in real life????
How would your SC know the difference? It doesn't! There is something called "Vicarious trauma".

"Vicarious trauma" is described as this by the American Counseling Association: "The term vicarious trauma (Perlman & Saakvitne, 1995), sometimes also called compassion fatigue, is the latest term that describes the phenomenon generally associated with the “cost of caring” for others."

Public Safety organization describes vicarious trauma as this: "Vicarious trauma is a form of trauma that occurs when someone reads, hears, or sees something about an event that causes them to have a post-traumatic stress response. For example, if they see distressing pictures or videos of a terrorist attack in the media.
If there is a compelling reason to limit your children's violence viewing this is it!
If violence and murder in real life can create trauma for the body and mind, why can't it do the same when viewing movies and TV shows? The SC mind has absolutely NO way to understand one is real and the other is on a viewing BOX, especially now with these 110 inch screens. So watching whatever is happening on the TV surely does look like real life to our SC!
Proverbs 4:23 tells us, "So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life."
The Hebrew word levav is the most common word for “heart.” It includes our thoughts, our will, our discernment, and our affections. This is probably the most compelling reason to tap - tapping GUARDS our heart! Heart is our connective place to God!
Phipippians 4:6-8 says, " Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
You & I know harsh violence on every TV screen in the world is NOT pure, lovely, right, admirable, noble or true, no matter who is reporting it.
Consider asking God while tapping how He would have you change these habits, and then tap out whatever stands in the way of doing what He requires you to do.
He is faithful to help you! Amen.
