Movie: Inside Out

My Christian friend Joy wrote this review of the movie:

I would highly recommend the movie Inside Out for older children  and adults.  It might be too intense for younger children.  The story is about the feelings of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust who  react to the events in a person's life. During the day they create memories which are depicted as large marbles or balls.  At the end of each day, the memories are filed as core memories (major events) or placed on storage shelves.  Sadness can turn happy memories into sad ones, but Joy can reverse this process. Reactions to events depend on who is in charge of the control panel in the mind.  Worker characters have the job of vacuuming memories that are not being used into the pit of forgetfulness.  There are also islands of values such as family, honesty, silliness, etc. which are shown as large machines.  These islands can grow with good memories or disintegrate with bad ones.  The little girl in the story ends up forgetting her imaginary friend (a cotton candy elephant) when he sacrifices himself in the pit of forgetfulness in order to help Joy and the core memories get back.  Bad feelings are not glossed over, however, each feeling contributes to the entire character.  It is an interesting concept and I can see it as a jumping off point for discussing all things EFT.
