Can Christians Use EFT Tapping?

Interesting article that addresses whether or not we Christians can use acupuncture. EFT is considered "needle-less acupuncture" because we tap on the acupressure points, not needle them.
I think this article succinctly says what I have tried to explain in the 5 EFT for Christians books I have written.
1). Chinese medicine and Chinese religion are 2 different things, just as Western Medicine and any western religious beliefs are completely different. Usually, when we show up in an ER, we don't ask the trauma physician if he or she is a Christian, we are just grateful for their help!
2). As a Practitioner in EFT when working with a client who has physical issues, our first question is, "have you seen a doctor?" There is definitely a place for both Eastern and Western medicine. If I have a gangrene gallbladder, probably caused by my reaction to abuse, where I carry around rage, anger, hatred, I'm not necessarily going to try to "cure" it with tapping. I want a competent surgeon to remove it before it bursts and I become septic. Then I will want to deal with the negative emotions that got me in the fix to begin with so something else physical doesn't go haywire!
3). Being a history buff, I agree with this author that not all early Western medicine researchers, such as William Harvey, Lister, Salk, etc. were Christians. They might have been. Who cares? Does that mean I reject all their findings? Of course, I don't. Their religious beliefs as they researched how God put together the human body has absolutely no bearing on what they personally believed about the Creator Himself!
4). Research surely now seems to show that there is a direct relationship between our emotions and our physical health. God is in the healing business. Jesus performed many miracles, as did His apostles. Miracles still happen today. Healing is God's purview, not satan's. satan never healed anyone! So, like the instructions to Apostle Peter in Acts, eat sacrificed meat, it doesn't matter what the original intent or belief system was, God blesses it and sanctions for our good because He created it for our well being.

Example of in the Moment Tapping

Example of in the moment tapping:

A friend phoned to tell me she heard that the uncle who sexually assaulted her was given an automobile by her father.

She wasn't too happy with this.

I asked her to tap while she talked to me. “Rant and Tap” is an actual tapping technique.

No Set-up, no rounds, no SUDs, she just picked her own acupressure point and tapped while she “yapped” to me about her feelings.

"There we go again. Reward the perp. Nothing for the victim. What are those people thinking? I'm so angry. My chest hurts. Why does no one care? I'm sad" and on and on she went.

5 minutes later she reported, "Ok, I'm finished. Let God figure it all out. I have things to do!"
The conversation was over. Phone call ended.

This news development could have ruined her day or even her week, or if dragged out because she stuffed her feelings even longer, her health could have been compromised because she continued to dwell on it long term.

She didn't. She tapped, giving it all to God.

Remember, EFT is not a substitute for sound medical care, so please take care of yourself and phone your own personal physician when it is needed.

Christian Confessional Tapping

How prayerfully do you tap? Have you done the set-up and the subsequent tapping as your confession of sins? James 5:16 clearly tells us that we NEED to confess our sins to another person in order to be healed.

Isn't that what we do when we tap with another person? Even though I feel this way (fill in blank), I (fill in the acceptance statement).

What if we used the set-up more as a confession?

Example (Ladies, this one is for you!): Even though, Lord, I'm really, really angry at my husband because he comes home and plops down on the recliner, leaving me to deal with dinner and the kids, right here, right now, Lord, I confess my anger to You, asking for Your forgiveness because I know you love me and I hope someday to love and accept myself just as you see me.

That might feel like a long set-up, maybe, but multiple things are going on in it! You acknowledge how you feel right now (exposure to the problem), confess your sin of anger (Eph. 4:26), asking for God's forgiveness (which is instant, (Psalm 103:12) and adding your own acceptance statement that rings true to you right now in the moment.

Obviously, when we tap alone with God, we are still confessing/repenting ("turning around" in Greek).

How many of you while tapping the rounds have done it prayerfully? Lord, I feel _____. Sweet Jesus, I'm so tired of carrying around____. Thank you, Savior, for carrying this feeling of ________on the cross for me. Or any variation of these and others that you want to use.

Personally, now, and it has taken awhile to get here, I do my tapping just like I pray. I love to add in Isaiah 53:5 as my tapping material. "I'm healed by His stripes."

Thoughts? What do you do? How do you do your tapping? What Scriptures grab you when you tap?

Be blessed!

Tapping and ADD - An Older Article

EFT for Christians receives questions from all over the globe about a multitude of tapping subjects.
There is a steady stream of inquiries about tapping with ADD or autistic children. Yesterday this was posted on another EFT board. The technique is old as compared to how we tap today, but there is no reason it cannot be adapted to meet today's tapping standards. The language is a bit different, but perhaps this link will help someone out there!

Since EFT tapping has a calming effect when used, it would make sense that it should be helpful for at least some parts of a child's life who has a hyperactive streak.

In my EFT for Christians YouTube instructional video series, the first 4 YouTubes (Videos 1-4) are about tapping with children. These videos are collected ideas and thoughts about using EFT on the little ones.

Remember, EFT is not a substitute for sound medical advice. Please consult your own personal physician before doing any tapping work.

Movie: Inside Out

My Christian friend Joy wrote this review of the movie:

I would highly recommend the movie Inside Out for older children  and adults.  It might be too intense for younger children.  The story is about the feelings of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust who  react to the events in a person's life. During the day they create memories which are depicted as large marbles or balls.  At the end of each day, the memories are filed as core memories (major events) or placed on storage shelves.  Sadness can turn happy memories into sad ones, but Joy can reverse this process. Reactions to events depend on who is in charge of the control panel in the mind.  Worker characters have the job of vacuuming memories that are not being used into the pit of forgetfulness.  There are also islands of values such as family, honesty, silliness, etc. which are shown as large machines.  These islands can grow with good memories or disintegrate with bad ones.  The little girl in the story ends up forgetting her imaginary friend (a cotton candy elephant) when he sacrifices himself in the pit of forgetfulness in order to help Joy and the core memories get back.  Bad feelings are not glossed over, however, each feeling contributes to the entire character.  It is an interesting concept and I can see it as a jumping off point for discussing all things EFT.
