Why Christians Can Use EFT Tapping!

This article succinctly says what I have tried to explain in the 5 EFT for Christians books I have written.

1). Chinese medicine and Chinese religion are 2 different things, just as Western Medicine and any western religious beliefs are completely different. Usually, when we show up in an ER, we don't ask the trauma physician if he or she is a Christian, we are just grateful for their help!

2). As a Practitioner in EFT when working with a client who has physical issues, our first question is, "have you seen a doctor?" There is definitely a place for both Eastern and Western medicine. If I have a gangrene gallbladder, probably caused by my reaction to abuse, where I carry around rage, anger, hatred, I'm not necessarily going to try to "cure" it with tapping. I want a competent surgeon to remove it before it bursts and I become septic. Then I will want to deal with the negative emotions that got me in the fix to begin with so something else physical doesn't go haywire!

3). Being a history buff, I agree with this author that not all early Western medicine researchers, such as William Harvey, Lister, Salk, etc. were Christians. They might have been. Who cares? Does that mean I reject all their findings? Of course, I don't. Their religious beliefs as they researched how God put together the human body has absolutely no bearing on what they personally believed about the Creator Himself!

4). Research surely now seems to show that there is a direct relationship between our emotions and our physical health. God is in the healing business. Jesus performed many miracles, as did His apostles. Miracles still happen today. Healing is God's purview, not satan's. satan never healed anyone! So, like the instructions to Apostle Peter in Acts, eat sacrificed meat, it doesn't matter what the original intent or belief system was, God blesses it and sanctions for our good because He created it for our wellbeing.

Why Do I Need to Tap? Why Can't I Just Pray about All of This?

One of the questions that routinely pops up within the Christian EFT world is this, "Why can't I just pray about this, why should I tap?"

Often when I try to answer that question, my tongue gets tied up in my mouth and my answer sounds like I'm advocating that tapping is better than praying. That is not at all what I believe or what I wanted to say!

So, Ronda Stone, co-author of EFT for Christians, 52 Tapping Devotions, as usual, says it so much better than I do:

"I think it may be possible that some people respond better to prayer and some need tapping to break things loose to allow healing. Some may feel relief with the prayer but still tapping is needed for complete relief because the emotional pain is stuck in their body's cells. In my experience, I have seen the Lord move on people when I have only prayed {for them}, so one has to be aware of the direction the Lord is leading one -- to pray and tap, or to tap and pray.

People who have long standing emotional issues may think God has to fix them and they don't take responsibility for the part they may have played in the problem, thus believing God is the only one Who can act to help them, they don't accept that they play a part in their healing either.

Others who have some faulty reasoning or have been disappointed with God through prayer often pull away from Him. Those with that disappointment will respond better with tapping and prayer, and in fact, maybe even better than prayer alone."

Our God is a God of miracles! There is no doubt He is!

But God also requires for us to do work on this earth. Philippians 2:11-12 talks about "working out our salvation." Many believe Apostle Paul is discussing sanctification here. We are to "press on" toward heaven. God wants to deliver us, but He requires we participate in this earthly endeavor. Salvation in Jesus is a free done deal, but our earthly job is to give glory to the Lord and to work toward becoming more and more like Jesus, as we exhibit the Fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

His will for us is perfect. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us He has a good plan for our life.

We must pray, but some of us must also do our emotional tapping work to bring us into a calmer, more aware, less stressed, clearer space in life. Why? Early abusive events implant the pain into our body's cells. Prayer will relieve the spiritual content of the memories, but the "damage" remains in our body. Tapping often integrates the whole - body, mind, and spirit - to complete the healing we so desire.

God has always been there for us (Psalm 54:4). Our own emotional fog hides Him from our eyes. What a beautiful gift it is when tapping relieves the painful fog of past negative life events and allows us to see our Heavenly Father for Who He is!

Replace Negative Thoughts with God's Holy Word

Tapping while using prayer and Scripture produces an amazing result!

As we allow God's Word to penetrate our souls, it provides another barrier to the enemy's negative thoughts getting through to us.

I believe this is part of the "renewing of our minds" Apostle Paul talks about in Romans 12:2 where it says in the New Living Translation: "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

Becoming mindful of our thought pattern and when a negative demeaning thought enters, counter it with a positive Scripture. Personally I tap while I do that.

EFT - Nothing is as it appears

Dawson Church teaches in his EFT classes that, "Nothing appears as it really is."
Today, while cleaning our bathrooms, a thought came to me around this idea.

First, why does God always seem to use the ordinary, nearly "profane" times to speak deeply to us? Jesus, when curing those around Him, used spittle, mud, and bathing facilities as physical means to make those He cured whole. He does the same to me.....often. Maybe I should just set up shop in the bathroom!

If, as Dawson says, what we see in the physical realm as related to our bodies is not as it appears because the physical, as the new physiology teaches, tends to be rooted in the emotional, doesn't that parallel what God does in the spiritual world?

We humans without the mind and eyes of Christ have no idea what is going on around us in the spiritual realm. Apostle Paul talks about those spiritual battles raging all around us. Do we actually see them?

No, we don't, except with our spiritual Jesus eyes, and even then it is difficult to believe it all is really happening. We deny those spiritual battles, and we deny that many of the physical manifestations in us are really our emotional issues coming home to roost within our bodies.
Jesus sometimes forgave sin, and then healed. Other times, He healed, and then forgave the cured person of his sins.

This sounds like a chicken or the egg scenario. Which does our God do?

Honestly, I don't know, but knowing my God, I suspect He is very creative, doing just as He pleases when He so pleases to do it!

The longer I live, the more I see so many, many parallels between our physical life and our spiritual life.

We humans seem to separate them, and even we born-again committed Christians don't at times seem to get it either.

God has set up His eternal principles as to how the universe, creation, and humanity works. It's beginning to look more and more similar. Everything is a bigger or smaller version of something else, all reflection of the Father Himself.

As an example, fractals is one of these ideas.  I don't profess to even begin to understand mathematical fractals, but I see the esthetic-ness in the them; the artistic beauty. And I see how God has set up everything He created in the same basic manner. It's so simply that it confounds the most brilliant of scientists, just like the salvation He offers in Jesus is so simple that, sadly, so many people simply miss it!

I found this definition of an artistic fractal on the internet: "A geometric pattern that is repeated at ever smaller (or larger) scales to produce (self-similar) irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical (Euclidian) geometry.

"Relative to science, fractals are essentially geometric shapes or forms that are represented in natural objects, from a fern leaf or tree, to a spider web or snowflake, to larger phenomena such as clouds, hurricanes, or even galaxies in space. The discovery of fractals allowed for defining irregular shapes which could not be defined, or represented before by mathematics. One could define (or model mathematically) a square, rectangle, triangle, etc., but one could not define, or model, the irregular shape of a cloud formation, or tree outline, or coastline.

"One very common shape or form, found both in fractals & throughout nature, is the spiral. This is one of the most common forms represented in the fractals one sees frequently on the internet, and this mathematical shape is pervasive throughout nature as well. Is there a connection between the mathematics and science, and creation? Fractals have been called the "Thumbprint of God", perhaps they are!" http://fractalarts.com/SFDA/whatarefractals.html

Our Creative God often, when we seem to need it the most, offers us a glimpse of Himself. As He opens Himself up, allowing us to know small pieces of Him, I see the interaction and the interconnectedness of our emotions, our physical selves, and our spiritual selves, just like fractals appear to be a possible building block of nature. The deeply profound is found in simplicity.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) often seems to be that unique tool God uses to make much of this make sense to my human mind. He so uniquely created us to remain in communion with Him. The more I study His Word and all the newly uncovered science, the more I see where EFT surely appears to be the tool that allows it all to make the most sense!

The God of the Universe continues daily to astound me with His diversity and beauty. I don't profess to know the Mind of God, but I surely do want more of Him, more of His wisdom, grace, and mercy in my life.

Open my eyes, Lord, open my eyes!
